• First Birthday

It’s been a few months since we updated the blog mostly because there hasn’t been a whole lot going on.  Maddy turned 1 on October first and we had a ladybug teaparty in celebration.  She dressed up like a ladybug

and ate a ladybug cupcake, which she didn’t like very much,

    and opened lots of presents!

It’s amazing to think she has already been a part of our family for a whole year!  It seems like time moves much faster when you have a child who is growing by leaps and bounds.  Madeleine has really started to thin out and look more like a toddler than a baby lately.  She weighed 21 pounds at her 1 year appointment so we moved her into a front facing car seat.  She is standing alone now and trying to take her first step, but she hasn’t quite made it yet.  Our baby is quickly turning into a little girl and it is very bittersweet to watch.   Just before her first birthday, we had family pictures taken by a professional photographer named Rene Tate and she took some beautiful pictures of Madeleine that really make her look old!

More recently, we took a trip to a special place (King Soopers)  to pick out some pumpkins to carve and got some cute pictures of Maddy with her new favorite toys:

Madeleine and pumpkins She loves playing with pumpkins and she loves to listen to music in the car and dance, and she loves going for walks in her stroller and reading books.  She has really started to have preferences about things lately and lets us know about them very vocally!  Soon enough she’ll really be talking our ear off, but for now we’re just happy to listen to her babble and sing and play and watch the first major transformation she has gone through, from baby to toddler.  We’re sad to see her leaving her babyhood behind, but excited to see what is next for our little girl.
